Hotel Editorial Review

By the Hotel

About Resort:- Just 200 meters from Munnar bus station is a resort where you feel that you are in a place far removed from civilization, Poopada Resorts.

It nestles on a scenic hillock overlooking the most popular hill station of South India, Munnar.
From the enclosed balcony attached separately to each room, we can enjoy the panorama of the verdant hills all around with manicured tea gardens, interspersed with wooded valleys and bordered in the distant horizons by Aneimudi, the highest Indian peak after the Himalayas.

Munnar, which literally means 'three rivers' in Malayalam, is situated at the confluence of three rivers, viz., are Nallathanniar, Kundalayar and Kannimalayar, which join together and flow down as
Muthirapuzhayar, a tributary of Periyar, the second largest river in Kerala, and finally reach
the Arabian Sea in the west.

Munnar is also known for the tea gardens all around it, known as Kanan Devan Hills.
Thousands of mountain streams and rivulets flow down from the hills around Munnar, forming numerous lakes, besides the three rivers mentioned above.
These lakes, now forming catchments and reservoirs
for hydroelectric projects, are popular
hydel tourism centres with facilities for boating,
water skiing, rowing, etc.
The rocky cliffs also offer ample opportunities
for adventure sports like mountaineering and rock climbing.
Plantation tours, eco-tourism programmes and adventure tourism are attracting thousands of tourists to this area.
